BASF Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. has invested in a new automotive material factory in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park.
BASF Coatings Shanghai Co., Ltd. will use the latest environmental protection procedures and technologies to build a new factory. The new plant is expected to be put into production in the first half of 2014, and will produce 13,500 tons of automobile bottom material annually after it is put into production.
BASF Coatings Shanghai Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between BASF and Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. It has already put into operation a factory in Shanghai Minhang Industrial Zone. BASF's investment in Shanghai is aimed at maintaining its leading position in the Chinese market.
