The cartridge magnetic separator consists of the following main components: fixed magnetic system (electromagnetic or permanent magnet), sorting cylinder, feeding mechanism (upper or lower feeding), discharge mechanism, transmission mechanism and frame.
I. CTG type permanent magnet barrel magnetic separator The structure of CTG type magnetic separator manufactured in China is shown in Figure 1. The cylinder is made of 2 mm FRP with a layer of wear-resistant rubber on the surface. Magnetic strontium ferrite system permanent magnet blocks. The magnetic system has an angle of 270°. The polarity of the magnetic poles alternates in the circumferential direction.
The magnetic separator has two types of single cylinder and double cylinder. The length of the single-cylinder machine can be adjusted by the position of the baffle; the double-cylinder can adjust the declination of the magnetic system to suit the needs of different sorting processes (selection or sweeping).
The technical performance of the CTG type magnetic separator is shown in Table 1. The magnetic field characteristics of the CTG-69/5 machine are shown in Figure 2.
Second, the Soviet Union C Ð type cylinder magnetic separator
In the Soviet Union, the C Ð type cylindrical magnetic separator was widely used, and its technical performance is listed in Table 2.

3. 206—CРpermanent magnetic cylinder magnetic separator 206—CРpermanent magnetic cylinder magnetic separator (Fig. 5) is used for sorting fine-grained magnetite ore to prepare high-quality iron powder and various materials for iron removal.
The 206-C machine has a multi-pole magnetic system, and the magnetic pole is made of H13Дк24 alloy with a pole spacing of 50 mm. The number of revolutions of the cylinder reaches 300 rpm, at which time the magnetic field frequency is 90 Hz.

The 206-C machine can be effectively used to separate iron scales, vanadium and tantalum from the slag, select iron scales from non-magnetic mixtures and demineralize the weak magnetic ore before dry selection under low-speed working conditions.
In recent years, due to the scarcity of юH13Дк24 alloy, the strontium ferrite magnetic system has been successfully developed.
4. 251—CРand ПБСЦ—63/200 magnetic separator The structure of the 251—CРand ПБСЦ—63/200 magnetic separators is similar to that of the 206ПБСЦ—63/200 machine, except that the drum is much longer.
5. ÐБС—80/170 Electromagnetic Cylinder Magnetic Separator ÐБС—80/170 Electromagnetic Cylinder Magnetic Separator (Fig. 6) is used to sort magnetite ore with a particle size of less than 15 mm. The machine uses a fan-shaped electromagnetic magnetic system.

The ore is fed from the lower part of the cylinder by a vibrating feeder, and the magnetic substance is sucked onto the cylinder, and is taken to the cylinder portion in the direction of the ore flow, and discharged, and the non-magnetic material is discharged by the feeder. The vibrating feeder causes multiple free fall and vibration of the particles to ensure a high recovery and purity of the magnetic product.
Third, the Sarah -Mottes type magnetic separator Sala-мörtsell magnetic separator is also a widely used dry magnetic separator. The machine (Fig. 7) is composed of a permanent magnet polarity alternating magnetic system and is fixed on a ring-shaped iron yoke by a large number of AINiCo alloys or barium ferrite magnets. The drum is made of stainless steel or fiberglass and is covered with a layer of wear-resistant rubber or replaceable stainless steel. The magnetic cylinder is mounted in a dustproof box. The wearable parts of the chassis and the passage are covered with rubber and driven by a DC or AC motor. The peripheral speed of the magnetic cylinder can be selected between 1 and 9 m/s depending on the situation.

The machine has a variety of uses: magnetite ore dressing , production of super magnetite concentrate for sponge iron mills and preparation of feedstock for strong magnetic separators.
To accommodate different requirements (grain size, humidity, grade and recovery), the drum has three diameters: 400, 600 and 916 mm. The length of the barrel ranges from 300 mm to 3000 mm. The standard moto machine has three pole pitches: 25, 45 and 65 mm. The processing capacity per meter is about 10 to 75 tons per hour, which is even greater for coarse material handling. The magnetic separation machine effectively sorts the particle size range from 15 to 0.04 mm.
