In Europe and the United States, diesel vehicles are widely welcomed for their advantages such as sufficient power, fuel economy, and cleanliness. However, although Chinese diesel engine vehicles have also been used in commercial vehicles on a large scale, they have slow start, poor high-speed performance, and sewage disposal. A large amount of rickets. The frequent occurrence of hazy weather this year has made people increasingly concerned about the problem of climate pollution. The four standards for commercial vehicles to be implemented on July 1 will once again put the issue of controlling the emission of diesel vehicles on the agenda, including fuel injection systems and post-processing systems. Being the focus of attention has also become a key link in solving exhaust emissions. Currently, the world's suppliers with leading technological advantages in the above two fields, such as Bosch, Denso, and Delphi, have recently seen how to treat the implementation of the fourth national standard for commercial vehicles and related technical applications. The reporter had the privilege of interviewing Bosch Diesel Systems Division China. District President and General Manager of Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. Wang Weiliang and Delphi Fuel Systems China Business Director Zhang Hao, following is an interview with Bosch and Delphi two senior leaders:
President of Bosch Diesel Systems Division China and General Manager of Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. Wang Weiliang
According to the increasingly stringent emission standards, the injection pressure must be increased accordingly and an electronic control system should be adopted, and the common rail system will be one of the major development directions.
We are looking forward to the technical upgrading of the industry—the ultimate era of comprehensive electronic control of diesel engines. However, in the process, we still need to face a series of issues such as uncertain technical routes, high costs, and inadequate standards implementation. However, common rail technology will inevitably become the mainstream technology due to its technical advantages and flexibility.
In the past few decades, Bosch has been supporting the development of diesel technology in energy-saving emission reduction. Today, Bosch products and technologies have always played an important role in meeting global emissions regulations. These products have applications in the fields of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and off-highway vehicles, including modern common rail systems and exhaust gas aftertreatment systems such as the Departronic particle elimination system and the Denoxtronic elimination nitrogen oxide system, which reduce particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. Things play an important role. Our localized R&D and production of commercial vehicle exhaust after-treatment system Denoxtronic 6-5 not only provides commercial vehicles with an economical solution that meets the requirements of the National IV and above standards, can reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by as much as 95%, and can be personalized. Customized to meet different environmental needs.
In addition, the implementation of the national standards for the forthcoming implementation of the four, and the market is still based on the use of diesel fuel to the country's three standards, on the one hand since 2004, diesel engines have installed particulate filters, and now meet the four national standards equipped with modern cleaning Diesel-powered vehicles have reduced their emissions of gaseous pollutants by 80% compared with vehicles that meet the national standard (executed in 2000) and have reduced particulate emissions by approximately 87.5%. These technologies have minimized the potential for harmful effects as much as possible. On the other hand, vehicles equipped with Bosch fuel system and emission system can also use the oil of Guosan at the same time as the vehicle that meets the national IV emission standard, and at the same time have lower emission of exhaust gas than the Guosan vehicle. In addition, we also have a comprehensive set of filtration solutions, and in 2014, the diesel fuel that meets the National IV standard will also begin to spread throughout the country.
At the same time, for the Chinese market, Bosch has also developed an economical common rail system CRS1-16 for light commercial vehicles tailored specifically for the Chinese market. This common rail system product can meet the national IV emission standards and provide low-cost power solutions for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and minibuses. The CRS1-16 common rail system is equipped with a high-pressure pump developed locally in China and a new economic type fuel injector with a solenoid valve. All components are designed for the needs of the Chinese market and are produced locally in China, so the prices are very competitive. In addition, Bosch has other related products. For example, the CRS2-20 common rail system with an injection pressure of up to 2000 bar can be used as the most advanced energy-saving and emission reduction solution to meet the requirements of the Euro VI emission standard and will introduce innovation results from the Chinese market CRSN3-20. It can also better optimize fuel efficiency and meet higher emission standards.
At the same time, on the post-processing system, the current domestic technology is mainly based on the common rail SCR aftertreatment technology and common rail EGRDPF post-processing technology. These two technologies are the main ones, among which SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is currently relatively Accredited emission upgrade technology route. Based on the SCR technology, to successfully implement the National IV emission standards, there are three technically hard targets that must be met. One is the upgrading of the engine SCR system, the second is the supply of urea solutions for vehicles, and the third is the supply of low-sulphur diesel. The common rail EGRDPF technology has relatively high requirements for oil products and rail pressure. At present, the supply conditions of low-sulfur diesel oil in the Chinese market are limited. The SCR pipeline is relatively good in terms of sulfur resistance and low overall cost. Therefore, Bosch uses the SCR route as Focus on the development of technology.
The introduction of the Fourth National Standard will promote the upgrading of emissions, thereby promoting the upgrading of the commercial vehicle industry and eliminating a batch of diesel engines that do not meet the standard. After the emission is upgraded, the demand for mainstream products that can meet the National IV emission standards will be greatly increased, such as supercharger, post-processing system and electronically controlled high-pressure common rail, etc. At the same time, the competitiveness of China's auto industry will also be improved. We have also seen that most of the OEMs have already prepared for the coming of the Fourth Nationality and saw the urgent requirements for energy conservation and emission reduction in the 12th Five-Year Plan, coupled with the government’s recent emphasis on environmental pollution issues, we believe in the policy Supported by the overall promotion of the automotive industry, the State IV can be implemented in a timely and effective manner, and we are confident in the implementation of the State IV.
Zhang Wei, Director of Delphi Diesel Systems China Business
Not long ago, Delphi’s FE overpressured heavy-duty diesel common rail system received the PEPA award. The most important reason for this technology's (PEPA) award was its ability to achieve a pressure of 3,000 kPa system pressure and was used. The structural requirements of the engine have been minimized, saving a lot of engine costs as well as investment in production and after-sales service maintenance for the engine plant.
The future development direction of common rail technology is to develop a higher pressure and more precise control of the oil supply curve. At present, the O6 system in Europe has been upgraded to an injection rail pressure of 2500 Pa to 3,000 Pa. The pressure on the development of China’s national IV technology is usually between 1600 Pa and 1800 Pa. In the future, China’s high-pressure common rail will be further boosted by higher pressures on the basis of the 1600 to 1800 Pa pressure of the National IV. Better fuel economy and control of emissions.
Delphi has significant advantages in product pressure. At present, O6 common rail products that we put in Europe have reached 2500 Pa, and the system has a pressure potential of 3,000 Pa. At the same time, Delphi developed high-pressure common rails with different structures for a wide range of customer products ranging from small diesel engines to light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel engines. This provides more flexibility in system selection and is more suitable for different engine customers. At present, the design structure of the existing engine selects and uses the common rail system.
In addition, on the post-processing technology, there is currently a concern in the market that the market is still dominated by the diesel oil of the National 3, so whether the diesel engine with the National 4 standard can use the oil of the National 3rd. On this issue, for domestic mainstream diesel injection system suppliers, the use of the National Standard Oil and the use of the National Standard Oil have no obvious harm to the diesel product systems provided by these diesel suppliers. The main difference between Guosan Oil and Guoyou Oil is the sulfur content. The sulfur content of National III is 350ppm, and the national sulfur content is 50ppm. However, if the sulfur content increases, it means that if the engine is used in a national four engine, the country uses 350ppm. Sulfur content of such oil, then the particles of sulfur in the oil supply system in the process is actually played a role in the lubricant, the product system is beneficial and harmless. The main possible impact of sulfur content is reflected in the post-processing system, but we also have a comprehensive post-processing technology. At present, there are two main post-processing technologies on the market, one is the technical route of SCR, and the other is the technical route of high pressure common rail plus EGR.
In light vehicles, the use of EGR and a high-pressure common rail with relatively high pressure can fully meet the requirements of the National IV emission standard, without the need for additional DOC or POC. In this case, the sulfur content has no significant effect on the common rail system and will not affect emissions. In a light engine, the more common technology route is EGR plus common rail, and then DOC is added. POC may also be needed. The content of sulfur emissions will chemically react with precious metals inside the DOC, affecting its catalysts. Capabilities may also lead to an increase in hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions.
However, in diesel engines, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide are not major emissions, and the main emissions are emissions of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. From this point of view, the impact on light engines is not very large.
Both EGR and SCR are currently on the market. However, in the light vehicles, the mainstream of EGR is used as the mainstream. There are many main engine manufacturers that use SCR in heavy-duty vehicles. However, many vehicle manufacturers in heavy-duty vehicles are also developing the technology route of EGR at the same time and have achieved good results. progress. Technically speaking, we do not think that any technical obstacles to the two technical routes can be realized, and they will not be affected by the quality of oil products. They will not be used when using the oil of the third or fourth national There are obvious negative effects.
For the impact of the implementation of the Fourth National Standard for Commercial Vehicles, in my opinion there are mainly the following aspects. The first and most positive impact is that it will bring about technical upgrading of the entire commercial vehicle engine technology, and It is possible to increase the cost of some commercial vehicle engines and vehicle products. However, if this cost increase is due to the use of higher pressure common rails, which can optimize fuel consumption at the same time, it will not only achieve fuel savings but also offset costs. The part of the increase, for this we have also been confirmed on several projects.
However, for the effect of the implementation of the Fourth National Standard, I personally believe that this will depend on the government’s determination to implement State IV and the specific operations of the relevant government agencies. At the same time, it is related to the major OEMs’ emission of products and commercial vehicle products. The control of pollutants is related.
