GM Announces Global Recall of 200,000 Pontiac Models

Geely Auto reported that the US automaker General Motors announced on August 26 that due to the faulty engine control system, GM will recall 200,000 Pontiac Vibe models worldwide, of which the US market accounted for. 16.2 million vehicles.

General Press spokesman Alan Adler said that GM has received some complaints about Vibe models. Vibe is a sister model of the Toyota Corolla Matrix, which is a joint venture between GM and Toyota.

For the same reason, Toyota Motor also announced on the same day that it had recalled 1.13 million Corolla and Corolla Matrix models, and will start providing free replacement parts and components services for these problem vehicles from September. Toyota said in the recall statement that there are problems with the engine control system of these vehicles, which can cause the engine to fail to start and may even turn off during driving.
