BASF builds new vehicle exhaust purification system

BASF's industrial precious metal refining, salt and solution production plant was completed in Shanghai on February 21, 2012. In the next few years, BASF will further expand its precious metal production in China, including the recovery and extraction of precious metals from industrial waste such as spent automotive catalysts and chemical catalysts. These wastes contain a large amount of recyclable platinum, palladium and other precious metals, and their full use will help continue to meet the growing global demand.

In addition to local production facilities, BASF also established BASF Metals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., which is responsible for precious metals trading in Shanghai, to provide precious metal procurement for BASF and third-party customers in the Asia Pacific region, including major auto OEMs. Sales and risk management solutions.
